Jonathan Armerding, violin

Jonathan Armerding is a member of the New Mexico Philharmonic, and was a long-time member of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.  He also teaches orchestra and music theory at Albuquerque Academy, where he has been on the faculty since 1985.  In 2009 Jonathan was awarded with the honor of “Teacher of the Year” from the New Mexico American String Teachers’ Association.  Since 2001 he has been on the conducting staff of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program.  Jonathan was also a member of the Helios String Quartet for several years.  He is a graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois) and Indiana University, earning his Master of Music under James Buswell.
