Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a FREE family-friendly July 4th musical celebration under the stars!

Live music returns to Rio Rancho’s Sky Room Performing Arts Space, as the City of Rio Rancho presents a spirited evening of patriotic favorites, cinematic classics, and Americana with your NMPhil! From the thrilling finale of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever to John Williams’ Superman March, America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Salute, and tributes to Hollywood and Louis Armstrong, this exciting concert is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Audience favorite Jason Altieri conducts, and the evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display! Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, and settle in for an unforgettable evening of marvelous music.

2025/26 Afternoon Classics

Celebrate the New Mexico Philharmonic’s 15th-anniversary season!

This season’s Afternoon Classics at the National Hispanic Cultural Center promises a moving journey through timeless masterworks and rising-star performances. You will hear Schubert’s powerful “Tragic” Symphony, Beethoven’s radiant Symphony No. 4, and a dazzling finale featuring Ukrainian pianist Tetiana Shafran, gold medalist of the 2019 Olga Kern International Piano Competition, in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1. We also welcome the final round of the 2025 Olga Kern International Piano Competition, a thrilling opportunity to witness tomorrow’s great piano stars take the stage.
