After intermission, GRAMMY Award-winning composer Jessie Montgomery’s Strum showcases the string section with gentle, layered textures that build into vibrant rhythmic drive—drawing on American folk and chamber traditions with unmistakable energy. The concert culminates in the full technicolor brilliance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated by Ravel—a vibrant exploration of sound and energy through one of the orchestra’s most beloved showpieces.
