Samantha Flores

Principal Librarian 

Samantha joined the New Mexico Philharmonic as Principal Librarian in May 2026. A Florida native, she began studying piano at an early age before becoming involved in orchestral music as an oboist. An interest sparked in high school by the behind-the-scenes work that brings a concert to life eventually grew into a career in the library.

Her professional library experience began with the Jacksonville Symphony, where she served as an Operations Intern focusing on the library. After graduating with her Bachelor’s in Oboe Performance and Accounting, she joined the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as Accounting Coordinator and library aid, combining administrative responsibilities with library operations. Samantha won her position as Assistant Principal Librarian with The Florida Orchestra in 2023, where she prepared performance materials supporting musicians and conductors throughout each season. In 2024, she joined Mainly Mozart as Principal Librarian for the All-Star Festival Orchestra, overseeing the festival’s library and working alongside musicians from across the country during its summer season in San Diego.

Samantha is an active member of the Major Orchestra Librarians’ Association (MOLA), where she volunteers with the Social Media and Archives Committee. Outside of the orchestra, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, volunteering at a local cat shelter, and trying new recipes at home.
