Power Concert: Germany & Austria​ / March 10, 2024

After the success of last year’s Power Concerts, we are back for a new season of illuminating, affordable, family-friendly concerts! The NMPhil Power Concert series is geared toward introducing young audience members and their families to classical music, the orchestra, and the instruments that make it all possible. We close out the Power Concert series with a celebration of the symphonic tradition in all its glory! Germany and Austria were the cultural hotspots of the day and the birthplace of Western classical music as we know it, and today, we honor some masters. The orchestra and its power and beauty will be on full display in a veritable cornucopia of works by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, and Johann Strauss.

After the success of last year’s Power Concerts, we are back for a new season of illuminating, affordable, family-friendly concerts! The NMPhil Power Concert series is geared toward introducing young audience members and their families to classical music, the orchestra, and the instruments that make it all possible. Join us on a musical sojourn to parts of the Mediterranean! Our second Power Concert of the season is rife with drama and flair, featuring music evocative of Italy and Spain and the magic of the violin, with our incomparable concertmaster, Cármelo de los Santos. Presenting the music of Paganini, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Chabrier, and more, this concert is sure to fill you with European wanderlust!

Power Concert: The Piano, Percussion & Rachmaninoff​ / October 1, 2023

After the success of last year’s Power Concerts, we are back for a new season of illuminating, affordable, family-friendly concerts! The NMPhil Power Concert series is geared toward introducing young audience members and their families to classical music, the orchestra, and the instruments that make it all possible. We kick off with “The Piano, Percussion, & Rachmaninoff,” an amazing concert featuring first-prize winner of the Olga Kern International Piano Competition, Jonathan Mamora, and the piano music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. The rest of the percussion section will also be featured in music by Rachmaninoff, Richard Strauss, John Williams, and more. Bring the whole family and listen, learn, and enjoy!
