Heidi Deifel

Heidi Deifel is an avid violinist and pianist. In 2001, Ms. Deifel earned a Bachelor of Music in violin performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University where she studied with world- renowned violinists Igor and Vesna Gruppman.
As a violinist, Ms. Deifel has soloed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Valley Symphony, BYU Chamber Orchestra, and Utah Valley Youth Symphony. She won First Prize at the Utah State Fair Music Competition, and was also a winner of the Utah Symphony’s Salute to Youth competition.
Ms. Deifel has received advanced training at music festivals including the prestigious Castleman Quartet Program, where she studied with Charles Castleman; Rocky Ridge Music Center, where she studied both violin and piano; and the Beethoven Festival Park City. Ms. Deifel has performed as a section violinist with Ballet West, Orchestra at Temple Square, Wyoming Symphony, Opera Southwest, and Santa Fe Symphony. She is a current member of the New Mexico Philharmonic.
Ms. Deifel graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah in 2005 and works in private practice. Ms. Deifel plays a violin made in 1946 by the German luthier Paul Dorfel.
