Andreas Landsted
Andreas Landstedt is a 17-year-old aspiring pianist and freshman at University Of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has been playing piano since he was 5 years old under the study of several teachers, starting with his mother, and moving on to Jeanne Sharp and Natalia Tikhovidova. He now studies under Professor Falko Steinbach at UNM. One of his earliest accomplishments came in 2013, when Andreas was a winner of the “Hey Mozart!” composition competition – his solo piano work Winter Toccata was subsequently transcribed and performed by an orchestra. In the fall of 2015, Andreas achieved first place in the MTNA, or Music Teachers National Association, state competition, junior division, in Albuquerque. In the summers of 2015, 2016, and 2017, Andreas participated in the Internationales Klavierfestival Lindlar(International Piano Festival Lindlar) in Germany, which hosts musicians from around the world. There he performed recitals and received master classes. He plans to attend again this summer. A motivated student, Andreas graduated high school early and now studies piano performance at UNM. He is also considering the possibility of a double major or minor in various fields.Andreas also enjoys composing and improvising, and playing soccer and enjoying time with friends – he has two older brothers and one sister. He is the son of Brenda and Frederik Landstedt.
