Paula Corbin Swalin, soprano
Paula Corbin Swalin, soprano, attended UNM for undergraduate study, and received her MM in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. Recent performances include C.P.E. Bach’s Magnificat, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem and Samuel Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915. Ms. Corbin Swalin has been a guest artist for the Music at St. John’s Series, the Thursday Evening Musicales at St. John’s UMC, and the UNM Composers’ Symposium. In 2007, Ms. Corbin Swalin joined the UNM Voice Faculty, where she currently teaches Applied Voice, Aural Skills, Film Music History and Music Appreciation. She currently serves as President of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (Rio Grande Chapter) and was just appointed coordinator for the New Mexico Kodaly Institute. And she is blessed to be a member of a talented musical family residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
